The Future of Barolo: Fontanafredda Unveils Three New Single-Vineyard Cru

Fontanafredda Group redefines the boundaries of high-end winemaking by shifting the spotlight onto three new, exclusive single vineyards. It is a strategic turn toward vertical precision, continuous adaptation, and absolute value given to the micro-terroir.
The breakthrough project centers around three distinct sites, each expressing a unique voice within the Langhe region:
- Vigna Bianca: A unique plot with a dual soul, transitioning from sandy surface layers to heavy clay depths. This soil contrast results in the Barolo DOCG Vigna Bianca, a wine perfectly combining aromatic complexity, finesse, and vertical energy.
- Vigna San Pietro: A perfectly southwest-exposed vineyard rich in silt and deep veins of sand. Its deep roots yield the Barolo DOCG Vigna San Pietro, a masterpiece of precision and grace, standing out as an emblem of refined, vertical elegance.
- Vigna Gallaretto: East-facing and rich in clay and Marne di Sant’Agata Fossili. It brings to life the Barolo DOCG Proprietà in Gallaretto, an innovative expression of Nebbiolo marked by delicate floral notes, vibrant drinkability, and unique freshness.
Tradition is not a static concept; it evolves through intelligent innovation. With these three new entries, Fontanafredda embraces change, proving once again that the future of wine lies in the courageous exploration of the land’s most specific nuances.
